Movies and Rocks - My Life!

Have been in a nostalgic, European mood lately. Outwardly, this has shown itself with my choice of movies.  For the first time viewed Cinema Paradiso about a small Italian boy in the 40's who learned the mechanics of the protectionist. Such an excellent film!! Loved it and it even brought a tear to my eye.

The next film was The Red Balloon, which I'm sure all of us watched in grade school, along with Nanook of the North. Sweet little French boy and the loyal red balloon who befriended him.  Inspired me to paint a Red Balloon rock.

Decided to Google what happened to Pascal Lamorisse, the little boy with the red balloon.  Here's a 1956 pic along with a more recent pic. Guess I forgot what 65 years can do to a person!!

Facebook rock club had a raffle give away and I was one of the winners of a fancy painted rock. Met up with some of the members today where they delivered to me a prize rock, an extra painted rock, and a blank Santorini white marble rock to paint.

Received and started using my new CPAP machine last Wednesday.  First night it wasn't tight enough so leaked air. Since the second night it has been awesome. No waking up in the middle of the night, waking up prior to the alarm, and I'm pretty sure there has been no snoring.  This Darth Vadar comtraption may actually be a good thing!

Balloon Jeans and Banana Bread

Ran across a mention of the newer "balloon" jeans. Hmmm...never heard of them so had to Google. Omg! Who in their right mind would wear these let alone be attractive in them?  Levi's describes them as our favorite type of jean- high waist and loose legs. And on sale for $87?  I'll take a huge pass on these!

Took the dog to Mickey Mouse Bridge in Castle Rock to increase my rock inventory. Been so warm lately it seems like summer, my favorite season!

Don't bake or cook much any more so it's fun when I get the chance. Last week made pork enchiladas along with banana bread and this week made baked chicken and veggies with apple crisp for dessert.

Son Sam shared his HBO login with me so started scouring for shows. Surprisingly, there are tons of 30's, 40's, and 50's movies available. Based on Sam's recommendation, watched the limited series "I Know This Much Is True," with Mark Ruffalo playing identical twins. Excellent and you even begin to believe they are two people.

After a year following initial consultation, Covid delay, and sleep test in early March, I'm finally getting a CPAP machine tomorrow. Here's to breathing and no more snoring!

My thoughts and prayers are with my bestie and her son, who just lost her mother and his grandmother. She was so full of life and was taken too soon. She was very special and will be greatly missed. ❤

Sam, Smiles, and Siblings!

Spent Easter having lunch with Sam and his childhood buds Jacob and Tyler. Oh so much fun (and disturbing) hearing the stories behind their teenage escapades!  Received a candy basket from Stan/Susan and even found a little stuffed bunny outside of Rite Aid to celebrate the day.

Wrapped and mailed the painting to Aunt Ruth only to have it returned because they don't accept stamped packages via the mail box!  Huh?  Had to take it into the post office, verify nothing hazardous was within, and off it was shipped.  Ruth and her hubby loved it which made me happy!

Received kudo points at work so bought an Amazon gift card and used it to buy acrylic paint pens. They are awesome! Can paint much finer lines and details.  Enjoying them so much have been on a rock painting jag!!

A couple of people on the Facebook rock site asked if they could trade or pay for the Thin Man rock and the Jaws rock. I don't collect the rocks so I told them to swing by the front door table to grab them. They were ecstatic!  Here's a pic of a girl who found a couple that were hidden at the mall earlier today. That smile is payment enough!!

This afternoon noticed some bananas going brown on the counter so have got bread in the oven as I write.  Seems to be the only logical thing to do with overripe nanners!

Today is Sibling's Day so lots of love to my two brothers and four sisters!! ❤
