Happy Birthday Mom
Cover Man in Action
Picked up my mail yesterday and began thumbing through it while heading into the house. There was a new Lower Columbia College catalog, which is usually tossed in the trash. However, something caught my eye. On the front cover there was a pic of three students, one of which was son Jordan!!
Immediately took a pic of the cover and sent it to Jordan so he could check it out. He was surprised and never knew his photo would be on the cover.
Pretty cool!!

Halloween 2018
Halloween was jam-packed this year!
Today at work we had a Halloween costume contest along with a holiday lunch. Almost everybody dressed up and were in the mood for fun.
The votes were tallied and the cat lady took home second place. Only short by one vote, darn it, but still received an Amazon gift card and candy! That crazy cat lady costume was quite the hit!
Straight home after work and the trick or treaters were already casing the sidewalk. Ran inside, filled the candy bowl, and waited for the storm to hit. First trick or treater arrived at 4:51 and the final batch rang the bell at 9:30!! Sad news for them is candy ran out about 8pm. Went through about 600 pieces of candy so it was a red letter Halloween. And no rain!
Friend Marie came over to enjoy the merriment. She dressed up as a tiger while my cat lady costume stayed on until the candy was gone. Changed my clothes and spent a good while combing and brushing through the rats nest that was my hair. So much hairspray this beaten and battered mop is going to need some intense deep conditioning!
Son Sam, with girlfriend Kaitlyn and her daughter, stopped by to say hi and visit. Very cute superhero costumes.
It's now almost 10pm, everyone is gone and it's about time for bed. Long but memorable day.

Memorable Monday!
This weekend made a batch of spiced biscotti. Turned out pretty good so wrapped up a few and secretly gave them to my secret pal at work.
After lunch the receptionist brought me a taped box. Breaking it open, there wrapped in tissue was what could only be described as a Diva gift from my secret pal!
Mask, long gloves, ring, pink lip gloss, lotion, and red nail polish. Fun!! It was labeled a Trick or Treat gift for Halloween. Nice surprise and great pick me up for a Monday!!

Working the Cat Lady to Victory
Jordan and Candy invited me to join them at a costume party at El Tapatio restaurant last night. I ended up inviting friend Marie, who is the huge Halloween fan. Jordan was adamant that we arrive early in order to be part of the contest.
I broke out my crazy cat lady outfit and Marie wore a Supergirl costume. We showed up around 7:30. Ended up calling the restaurant before we went in to make sure a costume party was occurring. Yes, definitely a party was happening there that night.
We walked into the bar and we were the only ones in costume. We asked the bartender when the party was due to start and she said 9pm. Early is right.
Jordan, in scary clown outfit, Candy, as a pimp, and cat Trista arrived shortly thereafter. We all had dinner and drinks while we waited for the party to start. All of a sudden one of the bartenders made a loud announcement that the bar and restaurant were closing. Immediately. No reason given other than it was just outside of their control.
We were all bummed there was to be no costume contest. Someone mentioned there was a contest at The Evergreen Pub up the road so we trekked our way there.
Definitely a contest going on as there was a variety of superheroes, ghouls, and vampires in the bar. We hung out then went in the back porch area for karaoke and judging. Jordan even favored us with a lively version of Ghost Riders in the Sky. With all those tavern regulars in costume, lo and behold this diva won first place! Second place then went to son Jordan! Woo hoo!!
Got home about 11pm and spent a good 10 minutes combing out my rat's nest of teased and sprayed hair.
Was a fun night and I'm looking forward to donning the cat lady look again for work on the 31st.

Cavities and Costumes
The crown broke on one of my back molars. There was a lot of decay so made the decision to have it pulled. Appointment was at 3pm today. Ugh. It's almost 7pm, I'm still numb over half my face, but at least the bleeding has subsided. Cheek is super puffy so hopefully that will subside by morning. Took a couple Tylenol as I know there will be pain once the numbness wears off.
The company holiday party is in December and the theme is Celebrity Red Carpet, including a look alike contest. Hmmmm, what celebrity could I easily pull off? Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Mae West, Dolly Parton? One of my coworkers thinks I look like Jennifer Aniston. Huh? Never heard that one before and it reaffirms my thought she should be wearing glasses!
Maybe....
Not so sure....
For Halloween I'm going to dress up as a crazy cat lady. Already picked up the outfit and accessories at Goodwill.

Polka Dots, Pumpkin Farm, and Post Relationship.
Oh life you keep things interesting!
Beach Guy and I have broken things off. Last Last Friday he had a massive heart attack due to two blocked arteries. He got an angioplasty along with two stents to keep his arteries open. Ended up driving to Corvallis to pick him up them stayed with him for three days. Shocking how much energy he now has due to the oxygen flowing through his veins. However, we decided we are two different people so we are no longer seeing each other. It was fun while it lasted but long distance relationships can be hard.
Friday pulled out all the stops and coordinated my shirt and shoes in a shade of red polka dots!! If it makes me smile it's sure to be a hit!
Looking at the above pic, it appears my hair is super blonde and washes me out, which led me to coloring my hair. After a very lazy day of sleeping in and grocery shopping, spent the evening pulling the hair through a cap, which hadn't been done since my hair was short. Dumped a darker color on just the locks pulled from the cap. However, it kind of bled so my hair looks much darker than intended. May have to break out the dish soap to lighten it up!
On a side note, does anyone out there know how to get rid of dark, wrinkled circles under the eyes? They are such a pain!! I've tried light, heavy, yellow, salmon, creamy, dry - you name it, I've tried it for these puppies to no avail!
Took a drive to the Roloff Farm (Little People, Big World) in Hillsboro with friend Marie today. I was feeling tired and did not want to go but she talked me into it. Ended up seeing Matt, Amy, and Jeremy so that was fun. Weather turned out hot and there were tons of people. Tons! Obviously the farm is a hot spot for October.
We wandered around, ate Mexican from a taco truck, waited in line forever to go on a riding tour of the farm, and browsed Adventure land which included kiddie-themed activities. My neck was hurting and my feet were sore by the time we finished. Just got home about 7pm and am thoroughly beat. Yes, whine, whine, moan, moan!!
Here's a few of the pics taken at the farm:
