Happy Halloween 2022!

It's been an eventful Halloween season!

Last weekend went to a Halloween/Jimmy birthday party at his girlfriend Lexxi's parents. Lots of food, drinks, and costumes! I dressed up as a punk rocker borrowing spiked bracelets and lace gloves from Candy. They even had a huge Budweiser pinata filled with candy, booze bottles, and lottery tickets. Lots of laughter!

Friday night Manny's friend Tom invited us for dinner at the local Elk's club. To my surprise, it was a Halloween party; unfortunately, we didn't know so there I was in my street clothes, darn it. Taco bar and some darn tasty drink specials. Ran across one of my friends from high school which was a pleasant suprise.

Saturday night Jordan and Candy invited us to join them at their regular Halloween hot spot, The Evergreen Tavern in Rainier. A few years I joined them and won first prize as a crazy cat lady. Sam decided to attend so I ended up putting a new zipper into his friend Tyler's Spiderman costume so he could wear it. I rocked it out as an 80's chick. Always had short hair so it felt weird to now have length to tease and spray my do for the 80's perm height!

Jordan was dressed as a serial killer butcher and Candy as a sorceress. Jordan made his mask from scratch, which included one of those plastic open mouth devices and fake hillbilly teeth. We had a great time!  Sang karoke, enjoyed jello shots, and laughed as Jordan and Sam performed their brotherly antics. In the end, Jordan won first place and Sam third so it was exciting! It's always entertaining when both boys are together!

We were leaving the Tavern around midnight when I ran into another one of my high school friends who was just arriving. Too coincidental but this area is a small town!

Spent today recovering from a sleep hangover. Just felt tired so separated naps with various movies. Manny spent time in the kitchen making a braised roast with veggies and it turned muito bom!! The broth was so savory.

Took last Friday, Monday and Tuesday off for vacation so I wouldn't lose the time at end of the year. Grabbed a few Christmas items from the dollar store so will spend some time crafting.

Have a magical Halloween all!! 🎃💀👻 It's going to be Christmas before we know it!

Sewing, Needles, and Portugese Spaghetti Weekend

Been too busy with work to do crafting. However, finally took care of a pending sewing project today and it turned out great!

A few months ago picked up a chic leather jacket for $3.99 at Goodwill. Soft, thin leather made in a wrap style. Unfortunately, it was way too big...well, which is actually a good thing but it meant it needed to be tailored.

Took it to the local tailor, she looked it over, and gave me a quote of $100 to downsize. No frickin way was I going to pay that price especially since I could sew it myself!

Two months later finally tackled the job today. Added a seam in back then took in the sleeves and voila! Done!  Will share a pic in the future when I'm dooded up as opposed to my sewing outfit of sweats and Halloween baseball tee.

Like this but black:

Saturday night Manny made homemade spaghetti and it was sooo good. Here he is in action.

Jimmy stores his quad in our garage and today he stopped by to load it back in. Sam and Jimmy's fiancee Lexii's brother Johnny came along for the ride. Turns out it was Johnny's birthday today so Sam decided to dress like him. This is Johnny's normal attire and Sam did a pretty good job matching him.

One of my co-workers told me about a Sonia Kashuk microneedle roller she bought on-line. Our former boss would go in for medical microneedling and swore by it. I found the roller at Target so picked it up and tried it out tonight. Washed and scrubbed my face then ran the needle roller vertically, horizontally, and diagonally across my face. Once done, applied moisturizer and serum.

My face was lightly red - enough so that Manny wanted to know what happened! After explaining the reason behind stabbing my face with numerous needles, his concern was alleviated (I hope.)

Here's some benefits of the face acupuncture at home treatment:

Why does Monday show up so fast? Enjoy your week!

Julie Van Gogh

Sister Julie shared the following with us. No, it's not a photograph -it's a painting she just finished! Quite the masterpiece! She has more artistic  talent in her little finger than I could hope to achieve! Proud of you Jube and love, love, love the painting!

Beach, BBQ, and Flower Bed

Friday afternoon Manny and I took a quick trip to Willow Grove so I could stock up on my driftwood supply. Sunny but pretty empty, which is my favorite kind of beach.

I'd been putting it off since I moved in but finally decided to clean up my flower bed on Saturday. It was full of weeds, grass and strawberry plants that needed to vacate.

So much better! Once we cover it with bark dust or something similar it's going to be perfect!

Later on went to a birthday party and housewarming BBQ. Friends of mine just purchased a home which turns out to be right next door to a house my dad previously owned. Gorgeous location and right by Coal Creek.

Today was filled with additional productive tasks. Labeled the spices and moved them to an empty drawer so they would be easier to locate and not take up so much space in the cupboard.  Next, tackled my room. Went through my dresser and closet and cleaned out all the clothes I don't wear. Wound up with five bags of jeans, sweaters, dresses, tee shirts and more which I gave away to Candy.  Finished up the bedroom by making the bed with clean sheets so that project was done. Jordan and Candy actually stopped by so those five bags didn't hang around the room for long.

On to crafting! Had started two different driftwood projects - a driftwood boat and a driftwood swing along with a figure to go with it.

Finished the boat fairly quickly then moved on to the swing. Revised it some then moved on to the figure. Candy gave me a bag of scarves so dug through and located a perfect one to use as the figures dress. Tacked on the dress, glued hair, added glasses and crown and she was ready to swing!

My driftwood and figure art is beginning to overtake my office table! Need to investigate bazaars or rent a space to sell some of them.

Painted my fingernails Friday and finished up the weekend by painting my toenails tonight

Here's to having a great week ahead!!
