Marketing Ploy Full of Hot Air

I ran across this ad last night when I was reading my new Allure magazine.  It claims the photo has not been retouched.  It also states it has been "certified by a notary public."  Paleez!  A notary public (of which I am one) verifies signatures; they can also certify that you are telling the truth but not that the item in front of them is the truth itself.  Perhaps the ad is retouched; perhaps it isn't.  I just know by making that statement it certainly clouds the authenticity of the ad.
