Lots of Bull This Week!

This past week flew by so fast!  One of the highlights was a manager's outing on Thursday when about 30 of us piled into two limos for a trip to Tacoma. We first had dinner than following that some of us brave souls rode the mechanical bull.  Way fun and it was a work out trying to stay on the bull before being tossed.

After all that bull, we hit the Tacoma Comedy Club.  There were a couple of comics and the headliner was Chris Frangelo from the Chelsea Handler show. Very funny, lots of laughter, and plenty of leader bonding.

This Monday I fly out to Las Vegas for a work summit with fellow HR directors and General Manager. Lots of activities and bonding time before I return home on Friday.

I've also been into Game of Thrones...started watching season one and that has morphed into just finishing up with season two. Addicting!

Love, Lunch, and Life!!

Here I sit this beyond beautiful Saturday morning waiting for the oil to be changed in my car. It seems to be a frequent occurrence based upon my lengthy commute.  This morning was a real bitch!  I woke up around 4am with serious allergy issues - sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes. I finally gave in and got up about 4:45 to make coffee.

Lo and behold there are 4 kids, including Sam, up and awake, obviously still in the throes of inebriation. It was hard to be annoyed because they were all so happy to see me. Extolling affirmations of love, each one insisted on a hug then went on at length to declare what a wonderful mother I am.  It was cute. Two of the kids lost their mother two years ago so it gives me a warm fuzzy knowing I can provide a mother figure in their lives.
Typical evening at Casa Diva!

Today following the oil change, I'm meeting up with sis-in-law to do lunch at the Cow Deli. I love that place but haven't been in a long time. Their veggie sandwich is definitely calling my name!
And sisters-in-law!!!

I've got my fingers crossed that my man is able to visit tonight. He's on the river today with a group of friends spreading the ashes of a recently departed fisherman. He's also battling a bad cold, which I'd prefer he not share, which may mean a Saturday night on my own.

The big news this week is Jordan started a new job with Swanson Bark, a company which is owned by a former boss of mine. Small world and to think a man who was my boss when I was in my early twenties is now my 21 year old son's boss is mind blowing!

Here's to everyone having a good week as I start my countdown to April 27 when I fly to Vegas for work!! One of highlights of the trip will be a tour of Zappos....yes, the shoe company!!  This diva needs some free samples!!!

Weekends Do That To A Person!!

Sometimes weekends are meant to be lazy, and that's exactly what's occurring this weekend!

Last night I finally sold off some more of Michael's electronic stereo items. I had placed them for sale on Facebook and was surprised to see the person who wanted to buy them was a high school classmate. He finally had the cash and swung by last night to pay and pick up.  Nice guy...face looked the same but he was definitely a rocker at heart.  Bleached blonde hair, fedora, and skinny jeans, all topped with a motorcycle jacket. Definite blast from the past!

Today has been a lazy day of napping, cooking, and movies.  I made a pasta salad, no bake cookies, and bbq pork is in the crockpot. Should have hit the gym but perhaps tomorrow.  My work days have been so incredibly busy that it's nice to take a breather on the weekend.

Cilantro and Steve

Oh it's Sunday night and Monday right around the corner!

Friday after work I drove to Tenino of all places to

meet up with some co-workers for dinner. Never been in Tenino before but on one side of the road was a pasture full of cows and on the other side was a herd of llamas. And those were the highlights!

We all met up at Don Juan's Kitchen, a small but authentic Mexican restaurant.  Yummy, from scratch tortilla chips, chunky guacamole, and a very tasty cucumber-cilantro margarita. Excellent meal with entertaining, and funny, friends made for a memorable evening.

Saturday after getting my nails done and picking up some groceries, I arrived home to find my Steve there!  So awesome to see each other after having been apart for over a month. He even brought me flowers along with smoked salmon for the boys. We spent the day together browsing at Bob's and Sportsman Warehouse before having an awesome dinner at Parker's in Castle Rock, which is now Steve's new favorite eatery.

And now it's not only Easter but Sunday night. Monday will be here too soon. I've been super busy at work but at least it's been rewarding.

Happy Easter and let's make this week memorable!!
