Green Nails, Weddings, and Babies

Okay these nails worked for St. Patrick's Day but now they've got to go! This will be my task tonight.

This weekend was mainly spent working! Got 11 hours overtime in trying to finish up a never ending project. Hoping to finish it up this week!

Got a call from Chelsea, my former stepdaughter, today. She is set to get married May 4 and asked me to help her get stuff set up the day of the wedding. BF Lynn will be there as well. We chatted about decor, table settings, lighting, flowers and all sorts of planning for her big day. It's being held at the Salishan resort in Lincoln City. So excited for her!

Congrats to her brother Dylan, who just added a new baby son last week to his family. A daughter and two sons and it sounds like they are done. Little Hudzyn weighed in at 9lbs 9oz!!

Update - Just got done with not only my hands but my feet as well!! Pink is just so much more fabulous than green, don't ya think?!

It's Actually Pretty Easy Being Green

Today was the St. Patrick's Day celebration at work which included a Wear Green contest. Dug through all of my green clothes last night (there weren't many as I'm not much of a green-themed person.)  Added a little of this, a little of that, painted my nails glittery green, tossed on a sparkly ribbon headband and I was set.

For lunch the office had an Irish meal consisting of stew, sauerkraut with bacon, rolls, and bar cookies. All tasty except only tried a bit of the sauerkraut - too zingy on the vinegar for me. Was a heavy lunch which made the afternoon  move at a snail's pace.

Later in the afternoon after all the votes were counted, first place ended up going to me!  Just love decking myself out in a goofy getup and being rewarded for it!!!

Smorgasbord of TMI, Bananas, and Leprechauns

Over the weekend had dinner at the Castle Rock 49er then on Saturday it was back to Castle Rock as Steve wanted to check out a thrift store he heard about called Tin Pan Alley.  I'd been in there before - tons of stuff but generally over priced.

We got into the shop and were wandering around when suddenly it hit me - I had to use the bathroom. Like in a bad way which I attribute to the bowl of Life cereal I had eaten for breakfast. No restroom in old Tin Pan so I walked across the street to a gas station. Just as I reached the door I see a sign big and bold  reading "No Public Restroom." Arrrg. So back to the car where I waited in silence and sweat for Steve to be done.

He got in the car, we started to head home when on the outskirts of town we spotted a public rest room. I screeched to a halt, ran in, and with foresight, because I wanted to be prepared, looked at the tissue rolls. All of the stalls were out of toilet paper. Another Arrrggg!

Finally made it home at which point my sphincter was so tightly wound it would almost need the jaws of life to unclench my cheeks!  Thankfully made it in time to the relief of not only myself but to my underwear which remained clean. 💩

How sad that this event was the highlight of my weekend!  We did end up watching A Star Is Born - major sobfest at the end with the phenomenal Lady Gaga singing a solo.   Once again made two loaves of banana bread. For some reason bananas look so yummy but once they begin sprouting brown spots, they are no longer fit to eat and are banished to bread ingredients.

I did break out the sweatshirt Jordan and Candy have me for my birthday. I love it!!!

Ended up going into work for 7 hours on Sunday which explains why it seems later than Tuesday.  Anxious to get a big data input project done so I'm on a mission.

Last night watched the 1937 Star is Born with Janet Gaynor and Frederick March, who is one of my favorite actors. Had never watched this version and it was pretty good, although no one compares to Judy Garland as Esther Blodgett.

This Thursday there will be a St. Patrick's Day lunch party at work. Prize goes to the best green outfit. Of course I want to throw my leprechaun hat into the ring but my closet is pretty limited on green attire. Will have to put my creativity into high gear to figure out a winning outfit!!  Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

TGIF & Tests!

Busy but productive week!!  And TGIF all the way!!

Over the last year been studying off and on for a Property & Liability course. Came down to the wire so took the proctored exam (which means an HR rep from the Portland office had to witness me take the test) on Thursday.  Spent Wednesday night taking a ton of practice exams until my little eyes were bloodshot.  However, it all came out in the end because when I finished the on-line test it popped up a big "Pass!"  Made this diva pretty darn happy!

Received today the class certificate and learned my score - 90%!  Wow!! Guess that late night cramming tons of insurance info into my noggin paid off!! Plan on taking three more classes to get an Associate in General Insurance.

Happy it's Friday! Steve is coming to visit so we will be breaking bread then will watch A Star is Born. Looking forward to a lot of R&R this weekend although I may carve out time to work some OT as there is a big project looming over us that just needs to be done!!

Mom in All Her Glory

Sister Luna posted the following picture of Mom on Facebook today.  Seeing this pic gave me such a smile. Mom was special. Funny, intelligent, loving, and one of a kind. This was her - just being goofy and living life to the fullest no matter what.  I'm so grateful that I was blessed to have her as my mom!! ❤

Playing with Pebbles - Story of My Life!

Spent my Tuesday evening with rocks, pebbles, and stones!

Had some beach rocks from my last trip to Cannon Beach along with some smaller black filler pebbles and crafting stones.  Placed them just so on a 5x7 canvas board then glued them down. Let me tell you those smaller pebbles were slippery suckers! Ended up with rubbery E600 glue on my fingers and, although I tried to wash it off, it has now dried all over my fingers making them feel akin to a week old sunburn with strips of dead skin peeling off in sheets.

Practiced my lettering before giving it a go on the canvas. Bad news it came out crooked; good news is next time I will place eraseable pencil lines as a guide. Oh the lessons one learns during a craft fest!

This will be gifted to friend Marie as she loves her Goldendoodle Lily.  Already have lots of ideas in mind for my next pebble project!

Easy Solution For A Messy Task

Cleaned and organized my makeup in the bathroom today.  Boy was it a mess!!!

While cleaning I noticed there were lots of little bits of makeup pencil sharpenings scattered throughout the counter. Ugh. So I came up with a solution!

Grabbed a Ball canning jar that I'd received during Christmas that had been decorated.  Cut into the canning lid to make enough room to fit my pencil sharpener.  Shoved the sharpener in it, slapped some E6000 glue on it and voila! A jar to sharpen my pencils and contain the scraps! Once full, just have to unscrew and toss the bits in one full swoop. No more sharpening bits floating around on the counter!!

My work here is done!! 😉
