Paint Party

Another weekend over. 😒  Saturday did an acrylic pour on canvas. Didn't care for the way it turned out; however, it looked like a sea theme so added a bunch of characters to it and it looks mucho better.

Also spent time painting rocks.  Finally, in the afternoon decided to take a shower, put on makeup, straighten my hair and jaunted over to....Michaels.  Yep, and followed that up with browsing at Goodwill.  Just a hot Saturday evening at the House of Diva!

Today laid out and swam at the Toledo park, my new favorite spot.  Susan, her daughter Amanda, and her two kids drove up as well to go kayaking.

And my knee is better...actually picked up some arthritis creme and it seemed to do the trick.

Good night all!

Sunshine, Swimming, and Sore

Been enjoying this balmy weather by making myself a regular visitor at the South Lewis County Park in Toledo, WA. Great lake, awesome swimming, and no one around.  This past weekend went Saturday afternoon then snagged Jordan and Candy to go on Sunday. They fished, Jordan and I swam, and it was mucho entertaining!

The employees in my company are scheduled to return to the office two days each week come September.  Our local office is very old and lacking so they were hoping to find a suitable replacement. Alas, nothing acceptable so we will now continue to work from home indefinitely.  Spent time last Friday cleaning out and packing up my cubicle.  Will continue on as we have over the last 1.5 years. Thankfully, I really enjoy the work from home set-up.

Been feeling my age this past week. Must have tweaked my knee when I was in Cannon Beach as it's been sore. Ugh. Praying it's just a strain and not......arthritis!!!  Also dealt with wicked allergy eye the other night....take a look!  Would think I had just gone ten rounds with Mohammad Ali!

Spa Retreat Continues

The dining at Chez Erin this weekend has been phenomenal!  Yesterday for dinner Erin whipped up homemade fettuccine and baked halibut with a creamy lemon sauce.  This morning Randy made waffles for breakfast then he smoked pork belly so we will have fresh bacon tomorrow.  Erin also served me up a couple of Nespresso espressos which got my brain cells moving.

Tonight Erin made a riff on Brazilian food. She served up a plate mounded with Jasmine rice with all sorts off goodies in it topped with tomatoes and perfectly medium rare sliced steak that Randy had barbecued.  I'm not sure what else was on there but it was divine.

Also today when it was cloudy we hit a Tacoma Goodwill.  Found lots of 99 cent and half price items.  Erin also found a bowling ball to use as a garden ornament.  Their dog Gunnar was digging it. Made our way home when the sun broke and relaxed on a floatie in the pool. Damn it felt good!

While Erin was cooking dinner I borrowed her polish to lacquer my nails.  After digging through my choices decided on white because why not?  Enjoyed sipping on my red beer on ice while my nails dried.

My niece Ella stopped by for a quick visit so it was great to catch up with her. Now it's after dinner and I'm relaxing on the back patio waiting until dark to possibly see fireworks.

The pic below also shows Stubb's Corner that Erin fashioned for my little pup.

Happy Independence Day!

Super Saturday

Today has been AWESOME!  So much fun with sis Erin and her hubby on the Grady White cruising the Puget Sound, lunching at the Yacht Club, watching the very loud air show, hitting the pool, and now relaxing while Erin makes halibut and homemade fettuccine.  It's a Saturday for the books!

Spa Weekend

Arrived at Erin's in Gig Harbor this afternoon for what I refer to as my "spa retreat."  Wasted no time jumping in the pool...nothing better than relaxing on a floatie and thinking of absolutely nothing. So scenic at her place...garden in bloom, beautiful view, and full of serenity!

We had Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner, which hit the spot.  Nothing like having my Stubbs and Erin's two dogs and cat staring me down waiting for a crumb to drop.

Will be more pool and boat adventures this long, sunny weekend.

Colonoscopy and Cannon Beach

Spent last Friday having my colonoscopy. Came out with flying colors so next anal probe won't be for ten years!  Whoo hoo!

Saturday drove to Cannon Beach to celebrate sis Erin's birthday.  Weather was gorgeous and in the 80's, which was much more bearable than 115 degrees at home!  Gifted Erin the painting I made and she seemed pretty happy with it.

Ate, drank, relaxed, laughed, ate BBQ, more drinks, then down to the beach to watch the sunset with campfire. Returned home, sang Happy Birthday, then ate some cake!  By the end of the day, felt like a bloated boar that had been roasting on a warm spit for 12 hours! Ugh!

Sunday morning we hit Tokovana for a morning beach stroll. Hit the road for home on the Oregon side; halfway there traffic was at a standstill due to a wreck. Must have been a bad one because they turned us around which meant driving back to hit the Astoria bridge to WA.  Ended up taking the backroads and spent an hour at the Toledo South Lewis County Park swimming before continuing home.  Again...no one was there! Grabbed a dock, dove in, and enjoyed the solitude.

This weekend I will be celebrating the holiday at Erin's in Gig Harbor. Pool, boat, scenic environment...it's going to be fun!  Steve is trying to make it but has been on overload with work. Keeping my fingers crossed that he can join me on Saturday.

Happy Independence Day!!
