Busy and Blue Sky

This last weekend was blue sky and sunny!  With Jordan's help, installed a new spark plug, air filter, and gas to the lawnmower. Spent Sunday afternoon mowing my backyard along with my own and my neighbors yard. I'd much rather mow than do dishes!!

So blessed to have received a washer and dryer for free from the mom of one of Sam's friends. Jimmy and Sam picked it up and delivered it to me. It was a little dirty so cleaned it and may pick up some decals or contact paper to cover the front. But they both work!

Not sure what Jimmy is smelling!

I guess one needs shades
to install a washer!

Painted another vase!!

Wanted a sofa table so dug out a small bookshelf from the garage. Painted it and it turned out perfect for behind the loveseat!

Here's a little bird and egg scene I created using a bird on hand and some leftover Easter eggs found in my yard. Trash to treasure baby!

Sam's girlfriend Shelly gave me some driftwood. Decoupaged shells with a beach napkin, painted the driftwood, then glued on the shells.

Here's my second driftwood project.

April Odds and Ends

Been hooked on making more hydrangea flowers. Spent one of my lunch hours painting a bunch of coffee filters then after work whipped up a few bouquets.

Garnished a Goodwill hat to hang in my bedroom.

Here's the coffee filters drying.

Painted a Mason jar filled with flowers. Love the end result.

Ran across a package of paper birch straws. Covered a cardboard container and here's the result.

Brother Jay sent some Cannon Beach rainbow pics this week. Gorgeous!

Could not pass up this $1.49 plate at GW that is the spitting image of my Stubbs.

Believe it or not, it snowed on Monday! Ended up with blue sky that afternoon. What the heck is going on?

Another Weekend, Another Coffee Filter Flower!

Happy National Sibling's Day

Last week son Sam and his friend Tyler stopped by so I could whip up a resume for Tyler. Was typing away, chatting up a storm when Tyler mentioned that his mom had a washer and dryer she was going to give away for free. Lo and behold, I need a washer and dryer. He called his mom and verified that they both work great so next weekend I'll be getting them. Yippee!!

Of course it was another weekend of crafting and cleaning.  I wash my dishes and swear I'm going to wash them each time a plate or glass gets dirty. Well that doesn't always happen and I wind up with another load to wash. Not so fun when your dishwasher is your own two hands!  Ran across a schedule on Pinterest, wrote it down, and taped it to an inside kitchen cupboard as a reminder.

On to my weekend crafting!

Redesigned a cupboard from my curbside pickup stash. Painted gray with topcoat of dry brush white.  Hung it in my bathroom.

Picked up a hefty Atlas from the Goodwill which contained an abundance of maps that I thought would make killer flowers.  Made a few with yellow tipped Qtips as stamen then attached them to Dollar Tree beach hats painted in shades of blue and gray.  Hung them from the painted oar in the living room.

Cut Atlas leaves to cover a small wreath, added a couple of coffee filter roses to complete the look.

Picked up two $1.49 fabric from Goodwill and hung them as curtain swags in my bedrooom.

Dyed coffee filters tan, edged with gold leaf pen, then made the following wreath for the front door.

Took next Friday off and thinking a day trip to the beach may be in order. Been too long since I've been there and I'm jonesin for the sand and surf.

Sunday Once Again

$1.49 rub on transfer from Goodwill.  Came with the word Home but too big for the cabinet so will save to use on something else.

Painted a vase which left a lot of pour paint in the tray. Grabbed a small canvas and pressed it in. Dried and looked like a seahorse and mermaid so outlined it.

More paper flowers!  Made some larger ones because I wanted some to look more like hydrangeas.

Repainted another tall vase. Originally painted darker green and copper but it was too drab so ended up doing a blue, teal, and copper metallic. Also made some blue roses for the vase.

Here's my final dresser drawer table. Painted stripes inside striped then sprayed it, along with the vase, with clear gloss paint.

Finally found a use for my old makeup tier basket. Moved it to the kitchen to hold my fruit and veggies.

And that was my weekend!
