Pom Pom Be Gone

There comes a time when an idea sounds so good yet turns into hideous before you know it. For example, here's a project from Pinterest.  Extra tire laying around, a few pom poms, and a four table legs. What could possibly go wrong?

Yeah, this could go wrong. What twisted mind thought this looked good?  Even in a kitschy environment, this would not flow.  Well, it could flow....right out to the dumpster!!

Big Yawn for the Weekend

Pretty lazy weekend. Friday night found me making homemade sweet and sour chicken along with deep fried shrimp.  Turned out pretty yummy.

Saturday I had a couple of items to return. First stop was the local Macys. They are going out of business so it was a crap shoot if I'd be able to return my Vancouver Macys item there. Walked in and 90% of the store was empty, save for several fixtures. There were maybe two registers open to service the few items still available for sale. Unfortunately as I suspected they were not accepting returns.

Stopped by JC Penneys for another return, then swung by Planet Fitness to pick up my new membership card. Now to just start going!

Rest of my day was committed to cleaning at home and painting rocks.

Today as I battled allergy eye I went to church then stopped at the nearest park to hide my painted rocks. Then came home to do laundry and take some allergy meds, which promptly put me to sleep.

So that has been my excitement for the weekend.

Here's a pic of my rocks that someone found - like within 30 minutes of when they were hidden!!

Eye Not

One of my favorite past times is to browse makeup ideas on Pinterest. Not only for tips and ideas but to look at all the crazy ideas out there.

Like this one, which was found with the "good" makeup ideas. Seriously  beyond messy smudge work happening.  And what the heck is going on with her eyebrow?    I look like this at end of the day!

Pink eye anyone?

And multi-color?  Always works for an understated day huh?

Shamrock Shakes and Eyeballs Galore

Before making my way to Vancouver Mall today, I decided to get my oil changed, especially since the maintenance light has been on for two weeks.

I've learned that there is nothing wrong with being nice in order to grease the wheels so to speak to get a job done faster. For this reason, and also due to the fact I can't resist performing random acts of kindness, I picked up 10 shamrock shakes for the work crew at the Toyota service department. They always do an excellent job so figured I'd toss a goody their way.  They were all excited about the shakes, so much so that I'm getting a coupon deal on my vehicle maintenance along with an additional 10% off.  Score!!

Sitting here in the waiting area, I'm browsing Glamour and Vogue, which I don't subscribe to anymore simply because I look at info on line. I found the following new trend for nails and couldn't tear my eyes away.  Weird yet intriguing!!!

Top Chef - One of My Favs!!

Top Chef is one of my guilty pleasures.  I picked up a few seasons from Goodwill and a few more from Amazon, including Chicago, New York, Las Vegas, All Stars, Masters, and Just Desserts.  I've watched all of them at least twice - they just never get old.

This week I received Washington DC from Amazon and shall soon receive Texas from Ebay.  Already on disk 3 out of 4 from DC so that Texas season better get here quick!!

Organization and Ugh

Well got my room cleaned today - finally!!  Even picked up some storage boxes from Ross to organize my shoes. That's been a project on my shoulders for Lord knows how long.  Feels good to have it done.

Was in a mood today. Finished hanging up my clothes then just laid on the bed and had a good sob.  You always hear the talk about menopause and hormones and I think that's the battle I'm in right now.  Focusing on my age, my singledom, my stress at work, and my all around feeling of ugh. Thankfully I know this too shall pass.

Here's to getting back into my regular routine tomorrow!!

Cleaning and Cars

Congrats to son Sam who got himself a car yesterday.  He ended up buying a Subaru Outback from one of his friends - good car and will work out pretty well for him.

Speaking of cars, Jordan and Candy were involved in a car accident this afternoon.  Thankfully no one was hurt but their car sustained some damage.  But a damaged car is nothing compared to the fact they are safe.

Today I cleaned and moved craft crap out to the garage in order to clean up the dining room.  I also set up my garage door to be fixed this Friday and called to get prices to rent a garbage drop box. Absolutely have to clean the garage and having a large garbage can will help immensely.

Tomorrow on my last day home from work I will be finally cleaning my room. Yes a task I've been putting off forever but it must be done!!

Bubbles and Bun

Well the beach hasn't happened and not sure it will but I've been keeping busy on my days off from work.

Saturday Sam got his license back and we cruised to Vancouver to look at rigs. He didn't get one yet but hopefully will in the near future. Nice to see him adulting.

Yesterday morning  as I was driving through town I ran across people blowing huge soap bubbles. No reason for it but it brought a smile to my face.

My hair is growing out nicely as I'm now able to put it in a man bun, which I promise will only be rocked in the house.

Off to get my nails done!  Let's make it a great Monday!

The Beach is Calling and I Must Go!!

I'm feeling a vacation coming on!  Just a short trip to the beach will suit me just fine.

I've taken Mon-Wed off from work now I just need to figure out where to go.  Somewhere with a spa to get a nice massage.  Maybe a facial.  Cannon Beach?  Seaside?  Lincoln City?  Ocean Shores?  Not sure yet but will decide this week.  I need some serious walk on the sand, treasure hunting, and the crisp salty air to breathe.  Thrift stores to poke around in, galleries to browse, and a nice comfy bed in which to relax.

Here's to having a fabulous trip!!

Alli Oops!

So what happens when you find a piece of driftwood that looks like an alligator?  You paint it of course!!  Now the only question I have is who wants it?  I mean where am I going to put a painted alligator???

Thinking I'm Done with my Chinese Craving!!

Spent Friday evening with my BFF watching movies, talking ad nauseum about my trials and tribulations, and ate pizza.  It was a good therapy session and thankfully she doesn't charge me because at the rate I'm going it would be a big bill.

Saturday I slept in, then dinked around town, going to Goodwill and my usual haunts.  Scored a major leather jacket find for 50% off along with a pair of black mary janes.  It's the kind of jacket I can wear with a skirt so looking forward to wearing it tomorrow to work.

Was craving Chinese again so picked that up for dinner then Sam stopped by with his buddy Cody to visit.  Good thing I had my fill because my Chinese leftovers were soon devoured.

Sam and I chatted about relationships, of which we are very similiar.  Perhaps it's the Aquarius in us that makes us put others happiness above our own.  Thankfully I've seen the light and that's not going to happen again....I hope not at least.

Cleaned the kitchen, folded laundry and washed more laundry this morning before church today.  Then watched a few movies while painting rocks and driftwood, including an alligator in progress. Relaxing day with the threat of snow being the only downside. C'mon spring get your butt here!!

Happy Monday to all!!

It's Roo Time!

It's not every day a kangaroo comes into work!!  The other day an applicant  mentioned she was babysitting her sister's kangaroo.  When she asked if we wanted to see it of course we said yes!!

Cooper was a 6-7 month Joey who was sitting in a sling wrapped around the lady. He was so cute!  Serious claws though!   Apparently the sister has a full grown one at home. Quite the experience seeing a kangaroo up close and personal!

I took today off from work as a mental health day.  Just lots of thinking to do about decisions to be made to better my life. To help me think, I decided I needed to treat myself to Chinese food!  Haven't had it for so long and boy did it hit the spot!!
