Poor Diva Blog Needs Some Serious Attention!

Although my intent was there, my life overtook me in the last few weeks so there have been no blog entries.  Let's see, in a nutshell:

  • Spent a weekend in Lincoln City, during which time I met up with Michael's sister Angela for dinner then to see the Patti LaBelle concert at Spirit Mountain Casino (with free tickets!)  The show was awesome!  I tried not to cry but when she broke out singing Over the Rainbow it was all over!
  • Enjoyed time on the beach at Lincoln City along with Tanger Outlet Malls and eating at places where Michael and I shared our meals during our visits to the coast.
  • Cleaned and organized Michael's belongings that were in my garage.  Worked with Angela and Sam to sort out items to stay, items for Goodwill, and items for Angela to take back home for the family.
  • Made reservations at Spirit Mountain for a 2-day weekend free stay on October 31 and November 1. There will be a Halloween party that I will be attending; I threw out an invite to the Blue Jacket Divas.  Right now there are a couple who may be in for the trip; if no one goes with me, I will still throw on my costume (yet to be determined) and attend the party on my own!!
  • Took a month off from the gym but started back this week, working with the trainer.  Makes it easier to work out plus gives me incentive to attend when I'm committed to working with the gym owner.
  • Sam and I saw Gone Girl last weekend; great movie but I wish I had not read the book first as that took the whole mystery effect out of it.
  • In between all of the above there has been work, cleaning, laundry, and the usual daily suspects!
  • My crying spells are getting fewer; I actually went two days without the tears spilling over then out of the blue it hit me.  I can actually discuss Michael's death now without dissolving into a puddle.  When the gym owner asked me why I hadn't been in, I was proud of myself for being able to share the story with him calmly and without tearing up - that's progress!
Enough for now; I will write more when I have time to focus on creating a deep, thought-provoking story.
